It’s very rare that I come across hip-hop artist that I am genuinely wow’d by. Lately it seems hip-hop is slowly but surely coming back and artist are finally grasping the true essence of why many of us fell in love with it in the first place.

First it was Drake, then J.Cole and now we have a newcomer to add to my list. Mr. Freshman aka Ashton Travis. A fellow Howardite who is surely on his way. I’m always one for supporting good music, great talent and HU artists.

This multi-talented Houston,Texas native not only raps. You can hear him belt out a melodic song or recite a poetic story all on one track. His mixtape “Mr. Freshman” is a hit around campus and creating a huge internet buzz. Keep an eye on Mr. Ashton Travis, he’s one you need to be on the look out for. ;)
